Will I know if you use subcontractors and who
supervises their work?
We generally do not use subcontractors if
we can do the work ourselves, but there are times when it is
required by law, such as using a plumber, electrician, or
other trade that requires a special license. When we do use
a subcontractor, we will be there to get them started, and
in some cases, one of us will be present the entire time a
subcontractor is in your home.

If you use subcontractors, whom do I call if there is a problem?
When subcontractors are used, Construction
Transformations is still the responsible party for the work.
We will ensure that all work by subcontractors meets our
standards, or we will fix it. In most cases, we have a long
working relationship with the people we use, so we know that
they provide quality work that is up to our standards and
are dependable and reliable in the service they provide. We
keep files to verify that each subcontractor we do use is
licensed, bonded, and insured. If there ever is a problem,
we request that it be reported to us immediately so we can
take care of it promptly.

Last time I hired a contractor, I had significant problems
getting a return phone call and having them show up when they
said they would. What can I expect from your company?
Both Angela and Simone have home phones
with answering machines and both carry cell phones for
business purposes. We pride ourselves on returning phone
calls. If neither of us is able to do so, we may ask another
person working with us to call you, but we strive to return
all calls within 24 hours.
There are times when we cannot predict when we will be at
your house as accurately as we would like. When this
happens, it is usually because we must have a subcontractor
complete the next piece of the work and the subcontractor is
delayed. A delay may also happen when a critical part or
other supplies that were ordered do not come in as promised.
In any case, we will keep you informed of the progress and
tell you if we will not be there as scheduled.

How will you
deal with my non-smoking home?
The utmost sensitivity will be used in
relation to smoking, chemical odors, or fumes that may cause
the homeowner a problem. Neither of the partners of
Construction Transformations are smokers, but we may use
subcontractors who do smoke. When that happens, we not only
require all smoking to be done outside, but that all
materials are properly disposed of and that no smoking
debris is left for the homeowner to clean up. Customers may
also request that no one smoke on their property.

How will
you deal with my pets that will be home while you are
working?
Angela and Simone are both pet lovers, and
take great care to be introduced to the animal members of
your family. We try to work in ways that will reduce the
stress for your pet, especially if you are not home when we
are working. You can help us by introducing us to your pet
and giving us information and instructions on how we can be
sensitive to your pet’s needs. Simone has had both dog and
cat members of her family. Angela likes cats, but is a
self-admitted dog magnet. She loves them and they love her,
consequently, Angela rarely has difficulty with any dog.

How will
you protect my floors, furniture, etc, during the project?
We have some great roll-out and stick-down
products that protect floors and carpets from the wear and
tear of construction. We will ask that you move valuable art
objects and furniture from the area before construction
starts, and we will treat your home and possessions with
great care.

The last
time I hired a contractor, we lived with a lot of disruption
and were left with construction debris
everywhere. What can you do to make it less of a mess?
At Construction Transformations, we are
proud of the work we do, and this includes clean-up. Many
customers recommend us and come back to us for additional
work precisely because we provide quality work and a service
that is unfortunately rare in our field: clean-up.
Construction is inherently messy, it’s not always possible
to leave things tidy on a daily basis, but we will TRY. We
sweep up and use a shop vac as needed. We remove
construction debris and haul away all left over construction
materials. We won’t expect you to clean up after us!

Yes, we have references. For security,
their names are not listed on our web site, but ask us for
names and numbers if you wish to call some of our satisfied
customers!
